Average cost of Dental Implants in New York City, New York Dental Implant Cost
Quoting something I read recently as i was walking in the village with my wife, "Good tatoos aren't cheap and cheap tatoos aren't good." We can apply the same theory to dental implants. "Good dental implants aren't cheap and cheap dental implants aren't good." There are many implant systems
out there but we only use the best. Dental Implantology is a fairly new area of dentistry and the costs are still high. As time goes on and more and more dentists are involved in these procedures, the average cost of the dental implants may come down significantly.
There has, in our opinion, been a tendency for certain practitioners to overcharge for dental implant procedures.
There are three major costs involved in dental implant treatment. The first is the dental implant itself and the second is the restoration (tooth or teeth) that is anchored by the implant, and the third is the auxiliary procedures that may be needed to restore the bone and tissue in the area of the implant. PRGF, bone grafts etc. Fees for these services vary considerably. I have seen fees for a single implant that range from $500.00 to $6,000.00. I think that an average fee for the placement of each is between $1200.00 and $2500.00.
The cost of replacing a single missing tooth with a 3-unit bridge is almost identical to that of a single dental implant. Yet, dental implants are far superior to dental bridges, which adversely affect your adjacent teeth and need to be replaced, on average, every 7-10 years. The financial and emotional cost of replacing your bridges over the course of many years and many dentists' visits will almost certainly greatly exceed the cost of a single dental implant. An investment in dental implant treatment is an investment in your overall health, your appearance and your peace of mind. It ensures a lifetime, permanent replacement for your missing teeth and preserves the integrity of your facial structures and your surrounding teeth. In my practice, the fee per implant is $1750.00 and that is because I do a tremendous number of implants each year. There are, however, situations where I might charge more or less for a particular patient treatment due to the difficulties or complexities of the treatment situation. Restorations on implants vary to a much greater degree and an individual can pay as much as several thousand dollars for a single restoration up to over $80,000.00 for a complete rehabilitation involving dental implants. Fortunately, there are implant restorations available for most people that are in the realistic range and allow many more people today to find a suitable solution to replacing missing teeth. You have to make sure that the dentist that you choose is familiar with all of the restorative options to suit your needs and that he can provide the treatment at a fee that you can live with.
The actual cost of implant treatment is based on a number of factors, such as the number and type of implant fixtures placed by a surgical specialist, the type of implant-supported restorations (crowns, bridges or prosthetic appliances) recommended by a restorative specialist and whether additional procedures, such as extractions, PRGF,bone augmentation and gum grafting are necessary to achieve the proper esthetic and functional result.
