By using its advanced technology, Invisalign Teen can treat a broad range of dental and orthodontic conditions, which, in the past, were usually treated with traditional braces:

  • Overly crowded teeth
  • Widely spaced teeth
  • Crossbite
  • Overbite
  • Underbite

How treatment works

  1. Overall, an average treatment takes about a year and is made up of these main steps:
  2. You meet with a designated Invisalign Teen provider for a consultation about your treatment.
  3. Your provider takes pictures and impressions of your teeth, and maps out a precise visual plan of your tooth move ments, from the beginning to the end of your treatment.
  4. Aligners are made to custom-fit your teeth. The number of aligners changes for each person.
  5. You wear your aligners about 20 to 22 hours everyday, except to eat, brush, and floss, or go to a special event.
  6. About every two weeks, you swap your old aligners for new ones. The aligners will gradually move your teeth into their final prescribed position.

Benefits

Designed to custom-fit your teeth and go with your lifestyle, Invisalign Teen offers lots of benefits:

  • A brand-new smile, of course.
  • It’s practically invisible.
  • Brush and floss regularly.
  • Eat what you want.
  • Keep playing the sports you like.
  • Play wind instruments.
  • Less chance of irritated mouth and gums. In fact, you may get healthier gums.
  • No "emergency" visits for broken bands or brackets.

Cost

In most cases, Invisalign Teen costs about the same as traditional and other clear braces. The national average for Invisalign Teen is about $5,000, but treatment costs vary from patient to patient.

Questions to ask your provider

When you’re at your consultation with an Invisalign Teen provider, be sure to ask questions about what you want to know. The following ones are a good starting place.

  • What needs to be fixed?
  • Will Invisalign Teen work for me?
  • How long will my treatment take?
  • How many aligner sets will I have to use?
  • How do I wear each aligner set?
  • How will I take care of my teeth during treatment?
  • How often will I come for checkups? How long will they take?
